Only writers get it

4. February 2007

Isn’t it just the worst when you have good news and no one can understand them?

“I have two agents who want to see a full!”
*blank stares*
“Uh, that’s good. Really good,” I’ll explain.
“Okay.”

Whereas fellow writers will squeal with me and appreciate the excitement.

That’s why you need writer friends when you’re a writer. To share your excitement.

And to appreciate that having 15,000 words of rewrites to go means insanity, tea and chocolate.
Not “Hey, can I help you?”

Congrats! A surprisingly high percentage of fulls (as high as fifty percent) result in offers. When you reach this level you just keep plugging until you get in.
